Snow is Falling

Snow is  falling with frenzied force
Leaving slush
Covered with a moist, soft blanket
coating the roads.

As temperatures descend
The soft flakes insulating the water
and slush on the roadway
Becomes crusty
Grabbing a wandering tire
Racing on to an uncertain destination.

I shall remain home safe and sound
Curled up with a bowl of chili
Either watching or listening
And know all is well with my world.

LAKE LIFE

Lake life
is a break life;
reminiscing the coming,
carefree summer vacation at the lake.
Flipping water with those natural paddles.

Waiting to dive
into the glorious surf
for a most refreshing ,
tantalizingly, crisp experience
of the vanishing dream
of summers past.

I Love Play

You love you,
I love you,
You love me,
I love me,
Together we play
For the day
When the gang can all play
And revel unchained
By society’s morays
With full mirth displayed.

I Broke My Heart

Today I broke my heart

To be put together again

I sought the sun's rays

to grow anew

needing expansion

room to grow

in another way

in another form

The heart remains

always God's tool

following her path

guided by his rules

Each day this broken heart

expanding with God's will

enfolded with compassion

peace and joy instilled.

Commuique to Korey

Commuique to Korey

Bonne has a leak,
He's driving Blitz,
I have your receipt,
Your boots, are here
if they need exchange.
Your laundry awaits,
I’ll do it.

In order to let you go
I need to stop doing your stuff,
I think. I put my life on hold
when you I brought you home from school.
I need to dis-engage.

Do you want us to pay you … for cooking?
I don’t have money for the pub …
talk to your dad.

NEW DAY

I used to wake up early
Work out as he was readying to leave.
A work a day world
When I … at home stayed

I couldn’t find my way again
Change had made it … known
“how do you know when … you’re in the unknown?”
These words haunt me.
To them I said, ‘FUCK YOU’…

JANE

Jane, Jane, Jane
you're Certainly ... anything but plain.
Your friendship is a flare
to all beyond compare.
Glad your birthday was the best
let's continue with joy and jest
with your calming, gentle way we’ll play
ore this year of coming days.
For this happiness we all strive
you have mastered, my friend
Keep it coming in spades.
See you soon
With loving thoughts MJ

RESPONSE TO REQUEST 2/1/12

My reply
to your request.

I’m waiting for the list of
summer poetry contest winners.

Wait not upon the edge
of your chair

And I as well,
Will not

I submit this now
to your request.

Sparks in eyes
Tentatively wait,

An editors
Pleasantly affirmative critique,

To a witty composition
of thoughts and sounds.

CARDINALS WINTER PLAYHOUSE

Red Birds ... young and old Frolic ...
in the dormant honeysuckle
Masking Mothers ... in distant camo tan

SPRING'S BACK

Clothing fits the wearer
Watcher be compelled
Yes ... try upon your body
That dress,
the vest,
the tails.
The shirts ... Oh Yes
They'll fit you,
The sizes ...
many ... you'll see
This CAbi dressing spree.

WIND BREATHES

Wind breathes
heavy in my ears
bringing near voices of the forest
tantalizing my eyes with distant sights
piquing interest
of inhabitants
close scents informing of weather approaching
brushing hair on my cheek
breezily whispering in my ears

NATURE OF THE FLOWER

Nature of the flower
Interconnected to maturity
Growth to overpopulation
Let fly to migrate
Abundantly implanting nature’s bounty
In the compostable soil of the universe

WINTER SUNRISE

Winter Sunrise

Grey striations receeding upward
layers of peach intertwined
thick as cotton tufting
thining streaks of blue bloom forth

This cottony blanket of grey
receeds and rises with the golden orange
caresses ushering pigment
from beneath the coverlet while
grey cotton thinly blankets
rising currents of yellow to peach

The blankets of grey droop
awakening soft dithered blue to white
embracing the orb and
brilliant, glistening underlament
cold and starkly white
devoid of pigment ushering white gold
it bothers the horizon full, Brilliant.
